Attaching a Small ship to Big Ship Makes the Large Ship Fall down at a very slow speed

Investigating

Whenever I attach a small ship to my large ship (Via Landing Gear), it seems to slowly make the large ship continuously descend at a slow speed (.34 m/s). When I've read about this online it seems to have to have a few answers like, Disabling the thrusters on the small ship and gyroscopes, Turning of the internia dampeners on the small ship, and among others saying that the game itself simply just doesn't know what to do with the calculations, Weight doesn't appear to be an issue because When i load cargo in it with no ship it hovers just fine with no issues, I have clips of what I'm seeing if needed

Hello Adam,

thank you for reaching our forum with this problem.

Can you please provide me more information on the subject?

It would be best, if you can share me a video showing the problem on your side, and also would be able to share me a safe file, where the affected grids would already be in place.

You can access your save files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers\Saves. There should be a folder with your SteamID and your saves.

Please zip the file and attach it here. If you are having difficulty attaching files you can optionally use Google Drive. When sharing a google drive link please make sure it is set to be downloadable by anyone with the link.

With the video and save file, I should be able to follow your steps exactly and reproduce this also on my side.

Thank you in advance.

Kind regards,

Hello Adam,

thank you for your reply.

It seems that I am not able to locate the shared files.

Can you please double check that they are zipped properly and attached here or pasted e.g. to Google Drive or such?

Thank you.

Kind regards,

I have noticed this when adding thrusters to an existing ship. Even if the ship has more than enough thrusters to maintain altitude adding a thruster will make it drop just a bit. I have added a large thruster and had the ship crash to the ground with what seemed like all thrusters turned off. It seems to be that "adding a thruster or ship" is causing problems with the existing thrusters.

This still seem to be an issue.

I have a large ship with hydrogen thrusters, and a small miner with ion thrusters for mining in space docked via connectors. In another save i use exact those two ships together without any trouble. But i've started a new save, built the ships, docked them together... and can't even take off properly. It starts to climb with insane 1,5 m/s, just to fall from the sky after a few meters, while i still hold maximum thrust.

As the OP, my large ship has more than enough thrust to climb like a rocket with full cargos, but with empty cargos and just the empty mining ding docked, no chance.

Even better: after restarting the game, i can't even enable the thrusters at the large ship as long as the small ship is docked. When i undock the small ship, everything went back to normal. When i unlock the connector to the small ship, i can start the engines, but as soon as i lock the small again, the large ones engines shut down. In the small is everything disabled, which can be disabled... no dampeners, no gyros... and yet it keeps the large ship from operating properly.

Any ideas? Or do you need additional information?

Thanks in advance.
