Grid Alignment after Merge

Jennkryst shared this bug 3 months ago
Won't Fix

I'm not sure how to describe this, but it is definitely repeatable, I've done it more than once, on more than one save/public server.

When using merge blocks to merge a sizable ship grid to a static grid (or several grids, merging the base piston to the static grid), something in the static grid will shake loose. To the point that block alignment is thrown off.

I can Grind the pipe away easy, but sometimes, the pipe cannot be placed back where it is supposed to go.

... and sometimes it can be placed there, just from a different angle. And the grid connects again and works as a single grid. But I can go back and grind the block, and it won't connect again.

This is incredibly minor and not terribly important, but it might have interactions with other things somewhere I'm not seeing, so I'm pointing it out.

I should note that is not a free floating pipe network causing the problem, it is anchored to the asteroid farther away.507b5d7d47fc1f33734d1780a234d317

Hello, Engineer!

We're sorry to hear you're experiencing issues.

Could you please check for us if after the pipe is ground down, both grids remain Static or the side that is not anchored in the asteroid revers to ship? You will not be able to place a pipe if the unanchored grid side is a ship, this is behavior as intended.

Kind Regards
