Game crash with event controllers and firework on subgrid

Need More Information

Yesterday we found a game crashing bug while playing SE multiplayer. The bug, when reproduced, is crashing SE for the player who reproduces it, but not the server or the others.

It's a long winded thing, but we wanted to attach a hitch at the back of our rover. How we did it is we made conveyors out at the back, added a hinge up and down, then added another hinge swinging left and right, and we depowered them (some parts were not even welded up) at the end of that we had a beam block, and 2 decoy blocks on the sides, and column blocks going out with a a firework luncher at the end. Our idea was that if the decoy blocks get damaged, they trigger the firework. We've set up the event controller starting with adding the firework on the subgrid, and to "set up actions" I pulled in the firework with "shoot on" setting., As soon as I pulled that on the game crashed. We've tried this with event controller off, we tried other player adding it. Shoot once worked, just the shoot on was crashing..

You can see it the following video timestamps.

Hello engineer,

Thank you for reaching out to us on the forum and sharing the video.

It seems that active MODs on the server might be contributing to the crash. Additionally, it is also possible that the player experiencing the crash has a Plugin active in their game, which could be causing the issue specifically for them and not for other players or the server itself.

To check this, start an unmodded server (without any MODs) and paste the affected grid there. Confirm with the player experiencing the crash if they have any plugins active on their game side. If so, please ask them to remove the plugin and join your unmodded server to check if the issue persists. If the issue still occurs on the unmodded server, kindly provide us with the blueprint of the affected grid, the crash log file from the player and the server log from the time of the crash.

  • You can access your blueprints files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers\Blueprints. Select the correct folder where your blueprint is saved (local or cloud), zip the file and attach it here.
  • The player can access their log files by typing %appdata% into their Windows search bar and they will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that they just need to follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers and they will find the latest crash log there. You can find your server file (if you're hosting a Dedicated Server) in your \AppData\Roaming\SpaceEngineersDedicated folder.

Kind Regards,

Hello, the server is indeed modded, but nothing that would effect event controller functionality. Neither of the players crashed on this specific grid have plugins either.

I can try the vanilla paste since I saved the blueprint as it was when we experienced the crash. You can also check it, since I'm a busy man. Attaching the blueprint to this comment.

By the way the grid might complain that it has mod dependency - it does not have it. the LCDs are running some pictures that are modded - but the grid otherwise vanilla - I've checked it before making the BP.
