Inventory lag while removing items from engineer inventory while sitting in cockpit

While sitting in a cockpit if you try to move items from the engineers inventory to another inventory, there is significant lagtime. This applies to both double clicking an item to transfer, or shift clicking. It does not apply to dragging the item to another frame.
I've noticed it on every server I've been on for the past couple months. Bug does not show in single player.
