As of the latest update "Contact", the new encounter spawns even when shut off in world settings and keeps respawning after being deleted in the administration window in-game. The new "Contact" update is creating lag spikes in my game which is causing delayed response times in the controls and making it difficult to play the game.


To fix this issue, I suggest making it so the new encounter is cannot spawn when the setting for the encounters is shut off, making it so the encounter cannot respawn after being deleted through the administrator window and can only be respawned manually (figure that out however you wish without impacting player's performance) and an additional optimization update to fix any graphical bugs or issues caused by the new "Contact" update.

Could you please try deleting the game’s config file and then disabling encounters in the world settings to see if the issue persists? To delete the config file, please follow these steps:

  • It means your game configuration will be deleted
  • You can access your SpaceEngineers.cfg by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers.

Afterward deleting the file, launch the game, start a new world (without any MODs), and disable encounters in the world settings. Once the world has loaded, check if the issue still occurs.

If it does, please send us the world save file where you’re experiencing this issue, along with the log file from the time the issue occurred.

  • You can access your save files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers\Saves. There should be a folder with your SteamID and your saves.
  • Please zip the file and attach it here. If you are having difficulty attaching files you can optionally use Google Drive. When sharing a google drive link please make sure it is set to be downloadable by anyone with the link.
  • You can access your log files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers.

Been busy, don't automatically close tickets because some of us have jobs that are more important than you. Already been through the troubleshooting stuff. Didn't fix the issue because said issue is on your end.
