friends world not appearing on server list

Solved

Whenever I try to join my Steam friend's world, the host doesnt appear on the server list, and when I try to connect directly to IP, it says server not responding. Is there any fix for this? because other friends are able to join.

Hello Eric,

thank you for reaching our forum with this.

Can you please provide me more information?

Is your friend running the server as online Lobby, or dedicated server?

If it's Lobby, can you please tell me what the visibility settings are? Is this game in "Private", "Friends", or "Public" mode? The host/admin of the server should know this and can change the settings at will.

Then, according to these settings, you can find the game under "Games" tab (for "Public" settings), or "Friends" tab if the game is set like this and you are friends on Steam.

Your friend should also be able to invite you to the game. By pressing F3 in the game and choosing the "Invite" button.

Can you please try to change these settings and try which of these are best for you and more importantly, let me know, if it's working and you are able to play the game on said serve/world?

If this doesn't solve your problem completely, or you are in fact trying to connect to dedicated server, please provide me more information.

its a lobby. he changed the settings from friends to public and i couldnt see it in either of the server lists. he tried sending me an invite, which i accepted, and it didnt connect me to the lobby. esentially, neither the lobby name nor my friend's name appear in the firends tab on the servers menu, and when he sets it to public, it doesnt appear in the public tab. When he invites me directly, it doesnt connect me to anything, it just launches the game through steam. I am the only one with this issue, other friends are able to join his host just fine. Only I am not getting it.
