Kit lags game single player or server

I was helping on a server that was getting freezes. The culprit was this grid

every time someone tried to use the survival kit out on the end of the catwalk it lagged the game. I removed the docked ships and same thing. I made a fresh survival world local save. pasted this in and got lag in the local game too.

Some things I tried:

turned off the sensors.

turned off the event and timer blocks related to the control panel outside the door. it looks like a key combo logic to unlock the door. with that stuff turned off the lag is much less but there is still some.
