Mr. Baguetter shared this bug 2 months ago
Solved

When you attach a jump ship to the subgrid of another ship, it allows you to jump while inside a safezone.

How to replicate the bug:

Attach a jump ship to the subgrid of another ship while in a safezone and jump.

I don't know if normal jump drives are also affected; I haven't tested it.

Hello engineer,

Thank you for reaching out to us on the forum.

In Space Engineers, jumping is intentionally restricted within Safe Zones. We’ve tested this with both vanilla and Prototech jump drives, and in all cases, jump attempts within Safe Zones are blocked as designed.

However, based on the video you shared, it appears that MODs are active in your world/server. These MODs may be overriding the game’s default settings, which could be the reason why jumping is possible in your case.

Could you please try reproducing this issue in a vanilla (unmodded) world? If the issue persists, we kindly request you to provide the vanilla world save file, the log file from the time of occurrence, and a screen recording/video showing the issue in the vanilla world.

  • You can access your save files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers\Saves. There should be a folder with your SteamID and your saves.
  • Please zip the file and attach it here. If you are having difficulty attaching files you can optionally use Google Drive. When sharing a google drive link please make sure it is set to be downloadable by anyone with the link.

  • You can access your log files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers.

Kind Regards,

I tried to jump again in the same world and a different world, and both times the jump was blocked. I can’t access any files since I use cloud gaming.

Hello engineer,

Thank you for sharing the update with us.

As the issue is no longer happening, it’s possible that it was a one-time occurrence that resolved itself after reloading the world or restarting the server. Since no further assistance is required, we’ll be closing this thread for now.

Please do not hesitate to contact us again if you happen to experience or observe any other issues.

Happy Engineering!

Kind Regards,

Keen Software House: QA Department
