air vent depressurize complains about air leak when external

Jason McAlpin shared this bug 2 months ago
Won't Fix

STEPS

Create a pair of air vents. one inside an air tight room, one outside connected to the internal air vent.

set the external to decompress.

it will complain about the room having a leak instead and turn yellow instead of blue.

WHAT SHOULD HAVE HAPPENED

When decompress was turned on it would suck any air available and not do a leak check that prevented it from working.

This is a weird issue because it will sometimes work. I mainly play on keen servers and it will not work with my own builds, or encounter buildings. But I think after the server restarts it will suddenly start working as expected.

I did more testing with the current version and it looks like Mars and Titan allow me to use atmo thrusters but the air vent trick doesn't get air.

high altitude earth, pertam and alien I can get air using the same trick.

So this may not be an error.

in single player and server I was able to get air in a ship to high even though the air on earth was low. (I was high up) I will have to do more tests on earth but the mars and titan test proved that they have an atmo but it is not breathable I assume.

Hello Jason,

Thank you for reaching out to us on the forum.

We're sorry to hear you're experiencing this issue, and we apologize for the delayed response on this thread.

Are you still able to reproduce this issue in the current game version? If so, could you please provide a screen recording/video showing the issue, either from a single-player world or our servers? Additionally, if the issue occurs in a single-player world, sharing the unmodded/vanilla world save file would be very helpful. If it happens on one of our servers, the grid's blueprint would be greatly appreciated. Please also include the log file from the time you experienced this issue.

  • You can access your save files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers\Saves. There should be a folder with your SteamID and your saves.
  • Please zip the file and attach it here. If you are having difficulty attaching files you can optionally use Google Drive. When sharing a google drive link please make sure it is set to be downloadable by anyone with the link.
  • You can access your blueprints files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers\Blueprints. Select the correct folder where your blueprint is saved (local or cloud), zip the file and attach it here.
  • You can access your log files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers.

Kind Regards,
