High pitched audio causing physical discomfort

There is a high pitched sound that I hear constantly. It causes physical discomfort and makes it impossible to play the game comfortably. The whining persists even when I have set the game audio to zero, both in game and muted in Windows sound mixer. I have attached a screenshot of my in game audio settings.
The sound seems to be more intense near my base.
I have found a Steam forum page that discusses a similar issue (https://steamcommunity.com/app/244850/discussions/1/43099721808963574/), but there didn't seem to be a solution to the problem.
Any help would be appreciated,

Since you muted your game sound in Windows, does the sound even come from your speakers or from your PC's graphics card (so called coil whine)?

Unfortunately, we weren't able to reproduce the issue. Could you please share more information with us? Is the issue happening only in a specific world or this is a persistent issue in single player and when joining a server? Is this happening only when you play Space Engineers or have you tried different game since it can be aforementioned coil whine or something similar to that.
