Server not responding

Hi,
I'm trying to join my friend's server, but "Server not responding" keeps popping up. On my side my computer only tries to join for a second or two and then seems to give up. I'm able to join any other server but not my friend's. We both have the same mods, and are both up to date on the updates. I've tried verifying my files many times as well and checking for any firewall issues(idk exactly what I should be looking for which might stop me from connecting but nothing seemed weird or off).

I have the same bug
Another person can join the server via direct connect, but no one can find it on the Join Game page. Thought I'd add this in in case it helps

Could you ask your friend (who is hosting this server) and kindly confirm whether the said server's visibility is set to 'Private'? Private servers do not appear on the server list and can only be accessed via Direct Connect.
If the server is set to 'Public,' is it running on Torch or another server hosting platform, or is it a Dedicated Server hosted by a player on their PC?
Additionally, please try disabling your antivirus and/or VPN to see if that changes anything?
Also are you able to join the server via Direct Connect, or do you still get the "Server not responding" error?
If Direct Connect also fails, please send us the log file from the time you got issues when joining this said server.

my friend says he's running the server dedicated on his pc, but cannot see any setting to set it to public. Trying to connect through Direct connect has always popped up with "Server not responding". I tested direct connect with a random public server that I could see and join on the Join Game list and I couldn't join via direct connect, but I could through the Join Game list. This might be able to help find the problem.
