Joining any multiplayer session cause a partially loaded player stuck in spectator.

Hi, I'm currently having issue joining any multiplayer session (server/friends). Whenever i join a session i get loaded into the server, but only a blank map is displayed while my game stuck the player in a sort of spectator mod while having most menu broken. From my personnal resarch it seems to also be called the "Spectator bug".


Things i tried :

  • Changing wifi connection
  • Verify game files integrity
  • Turn off steam cloud on Space Engineers
  • Reinstall the game
  • Clear my %AppData% SpaceEngineers folder
  • re-verify the game files integrity
  • Uninstalling all workshop content, switching back to non experimental.


Also other players can't join me as they get stuck in "Waiting for server response.


As my game is not in english, some translation I've made may be different from there original name's.

I keep getting this bug too, though I did manage to somehow fix it for a couple of hours before I restarted my computer and it came back again.

Could you please let us know if you're still encountering the issue, or has it been resolved for you? If the issue persists, please try the following steps, which may help:

  1. Disable any active VPN and/or temporarily turn off your antivirus.
  2. If you're using Wi-Fi, try switching to a wired connection.
  3. Close the game and Steam completely, turn off your router, wait about 3 minutes or so, then restart your router.
  4. Additionally, please ensure that your network drivers and operating system are up to date.

Then, launch the game and try joining Keen's official servers. If the issue doesn’t occur there, try joining another server or your friend's game.

If the issue still occurs when joining our servers, please send us the latest log file from the time the issue occurred.
