Infinite Cargo on multiplayer servers.
I am writing to report a critical bug discovered on a multiplayer server for which I serve as an administrator. We have identified an exploit that allows players to achieve infinite cargo space in their ships, which could significantly impact game balance and server performance.
We are The Expanse Survival PvP server, and have reported issues in the past. We run the most recent version of the game, as of 10/11/2024.
Steps to Reproduce:
- The player uses a plugin that allows for the editing of ship blueprints.
- Within the blueprint editor, the player sets the cargo container’s volume value to a high negative number (e.g., -1,000,000,000 liters).
- This alteration results in the cargo container incorrectly displaying and functioning with up to 4 trillion liters of volume, effectively granting infinite storage capacity.
- The exploit appears to be applicable to any block within the game that has a configurable volume value.
I have screenshots attached.
We urge a swift resolution to this issue to maintain the integrity of gameplay on our server and within the Space Engineers community at large. I am ready to provide further details or assistance as needed to help resolve this issue.
Thank you for your prompt attention to this serious matter.
Best regards,

Hello, Engineer!
Thank you for reporting the issue. Unfortunately, we were not able to reproduce the issue on our end, as the cargo became unusable after alterations. Could you please provide some additional details?
What plugin is used to edit the blueprint? Are there multiple plugins/mods used to edit the grids? Would it be possible to share a video of how the blueprint is being altered?
Does the blueprint retain the cargo volume after being copied or a new blueprint is created from it? If so, could you please share the blueprint with the infinite volume? You can access your blueprints files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers\Blueprints. Select the correct folder where your blueprint is saved (local or cloud), zip the file and attach it here.
Alternatively, would it be possible to share a world with the broken container? If the server is run by Dedicated Server Manager, you can access your save files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineersDedicated\Saves. There should be a folder with your saves.
Thank you very much.
Kind regard,
