Trouble Staying in a Server

Won't Fix

Hey,

When joining my friends server I struggle to stay connected for long, it is modded but all other players stay connected without much hassle, where as I will freeze for a couple seconds then be kicked out without much warning, when I initially get kicked it says its a connection error, but when I try to reconnect it comes up with an unexpected error, leaving me unable to join until I have verified the integrity of my files, and even then I crash again after joining, I have also tried deleting my config file.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Thank you for reaching out to us on our support forum, and we sincerely apologize for the delayed response to this thread.

Could you kindly confirm if you’re still experiencing this issue, or has it resolved over time? If it’s still occurring, could you let us know whether this issue is happening specifically on your friend’s server, or does it occur when joining/playing on other servers as well?

If the issue persists across all servers, please try the following steps, which may help:

  1. Disable any active VPN and/or temporarily turn off your antivirus.
  2. If you're using Wi-Fi, try switching to a wired connection.
  3. Close the game and Steam completely, turn off your router, wait about 3 minutes or so, then restart your router and launch the game to check if the issue persists.

If the issue continues, please send us the latest log file from the time the issue occurred.

  • You can access your log files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers.
