Multiplayer game broken: could not find

Won't Fix

I play the game with GeForce now, i play the game with my friend in multiplayer. One time i kicked out from th froebe game i was hosting my friend and by that time even if i deleted saved games, backups and started brand new games, my friend could no more find my game in the list as before. If is my friend to start the game there are no problem to find her. I play cloud so don't suggest to delete or modify manually files: i could not delete or modify any.

I could see her games but she could not mine, moreover in the game i could not see her waypoints but she could mine. The in game chat work properly without issue

thank you for reaching our forum with this problem. We are sorry that it is happening to you.

Can you please specify in what online mode are you actually playing the game? Is it in Lobby mode, or using any of the (official/community) servers, or you are running the server through the dedicated server app yourself by any means?

Only this "Friends" tab is not working for you? If it's game/world in Lobby online mode, it should be find-able also in the "Games" category. Can you try and find it there?

The friend, who you are referring to, is also playing the game through the GeForce Now app, or through other means (Steam, Windows Store, playing on console...)?

Where are you using this app to play the game on, actually? It in on PC, on some tabled device, the nVidia Shield tablet... any other device? Please specify.

While not all might be applicable to you, due to inability to access some of these files, can you please try all possible workarounds that can be done on your side? Please let me know what steps you took and which seems impossible for your situation. These steps are mostly designed for PC and Steam version of the game; so the paths, file locations etc. can differ on your side.

  • Verify your game files in Steam - right-click on Space Engineers in Steam Library → Properties → Installed Files → Verify Integrity of Game Files
  • Delete SpaceEngineers.cfg file (it means your game configuration will be deleted) - you can access your SpaceEngineers.cfg by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers.
  • Delete ShaderCache folder - same access as above
  • Back up your whole Space Engineers Roaming folder and delete it
  • Restart Steam (if possible there also)/or in your case the GeForce Now app
  • Reinstall VC Redist 2017
  • Update graphic drivers
  • Reinstall the game
  • Make sure your operating system is fully updated

Please let me know if you are still experiencing this problem after performing these steps.

If none of these steps seems applicable for you, can you please show me (on screen, video...) your actual options in the GeForce Now environment and what you are allowed to "do" with the game (except hitting "Play" button) and also as stated before, please specify the device that you are playing on.

Since the game is running on the GeForce Now, I suspect that you also do not have access to logs, right?

Hi, i select the sandbox mode i switch from offline to friends open game and then i start the game, leaving all other options standard. I also try to unlock the sperimental mode to see if it was trouble from that. I also activated mode.io then deactivated. I try first with planetary sandbox, then red spacecraft then pvp mode always the standard games, not the ones from community. Always i could not see her but if she start the game in the identical mode with identical options there was no problems. I not use 3rd party servers, me and her play on the same way: friends on steam, with GeForce now with tablet or smartphone with the same app updates. Unfortunately i try to gain access to the files on GeForce now but it's impossible: even to make a check for corruption files it's impossible: the game it's pre installed on Nvidia servers and could not be restored, modified, deleted or reinstalled. I try to disable the cloud steam saves, i try to uninstall the game from the steam app o try all the way possible. Basically it's a steam os running on could without privilege of access to files that are delocated in a virtual machine. The only way could be through help on steam remove from library the game (i think losing the money for the license of the game) and then hope that buy again will not find again the old saved files. The only way i could solve the problem could be through the game application if would be some option. I will make a screenshot about the inline command i could maybe use. But i don't know if could work. I suspect that the time i kicked her from the game there is a saved files that ban her even if i deleted all backups and other stuff

As you could see: integrity check 0 files, uninstall game no possible: is currently running and if i stop the game, GeForce now turn off. Stopping to save in the cloud require a reboot and with the reboot it start again with default saving on cloud on, the only way maybe are advanced command, but there is no guarantee that it works as other settings

I think all could be resolved if there is a way to delete the game profile and start a new one as in all games it's possible to start a new profile.

I have discuss this problem further with our testing and programming teams, but it seems that since you have no access at all to the files, there is nothing we can do for you at this time. This is on nVidia and the Now's side.

Please try to approach their support to see if they can do anything with this problem.

But from our side, I could help you if you would have the files as well as the game yourself.

Well i think it could be seen like a bug having a client that leave data junk without possibility to remove it in any way. It's need to build a function that do it or remove the bugs.
