Hello Tomas,

thank you for reaching our forum with this problem that you are experiencing and we are sorry to hear that.

Can you please provide me more information?

What exactly means "does not start"? Does that mean that the "Start" button won't change anyhow and recognize the game trying to load at all, or from Steam it looks like the game is starting/should start?

Do you see at least the splash screen, or does it start to load (black screen, intro, logo, main menu)... and crashes/closes when this is happening, or nothing from this happens?

Can you please first try our general workarounds? These are:

  • Verify your game files in Steam – right-click on Space Engineers in Steam Library → Properties → Installed Files → Verify Integrity of Game Files
  • Delete SpaceEngineers.cfg file (it means your game configuration will be deleted) – you can access your SpaceEngineers.cfg by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers.
  • Delete ShaderCache folder – same access as above
  • Back up (so you won't lose you saves etc.) your whole Space Engineers Roaming folder and delete it
  • Restart Steam
  • Reinstall VC Redist 2017
  • Update graphic drivers
  • Reinstall the game – please make sure that you do clean reinstall. That means that after uninstalling it through Steam, you should navigate to both folders – the SE one in the Roaming folder and also the one from Steam (\Steam\steamapps\common\SpaceEngineers) and make sure that there are no folders/files leftover. If yes, please delete these manually before trying to install the game again. Again, please mind any files that you want to keep and copy them to different place.
  • Make sure your operating system is fully updated

Please after performing these, let me know if the problem gets any better on your side.

If not, can you please share me a log file from your game?

You can access your log files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers.

Thank you in advance.

Kind regards,

Hello, I would like to ask how it looks with my problem.

Thank you

Hello, Tomas,

thank you for your reply.

Sorry to hear that any of these worked for you, actually.

However, the "HRESULT" error suggest that there might be something actually wrong with the PC itself and not necessary with the game.

Can you please share me a full log the game (not just snippet in the comment)?

Since the problem seems to originate from different place, can you also please share me a log from Windows Event Viewer? You can find full how to here:

https://www.spaceengineersgame.com/troubleshooting/game-will-not-start-issues/

Just look for the "Problem: When the game does not start and does not produce any log file." part.

Thank you.

Hello, thank you for your help, but I have no idea how to proceed in these matters, I don't know what you meant by sending you the full log of the game or where to get it.

And in the Windows Event Viewer, when I open it, it says Creating the snap-in module failed.

Thank you Thomas.

Hello, Tomas,

thank you for your reply.

Well, for full log, you can access your log files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers. There you will find the log files. And since you already copied the parts of it here, please just send me that whole txt files here as an attachment.

For the log from Windows event viewer, I am sorry but I can not provide you more/better steps then mentioned above. You might find some more tutorials for that on Google or YouTube if you need more explanation on this part of Windows.

Please provide me the files as asked before so we can continue to help you in this case.

Thank you in advance.

Kind Regards
