idk why this is happening
so I was messing around in creative on star system making myself a nice ship that I can use to hop between planets or whatever just like generally screw around but I decided to make the ship a hybrid that can go in and out of atmospheres efficiently while looking at least decent so I was decided to use pistons and (large) magnetic plates to make landing gear that can retract into the hull so I decide to test it by landing on earthlike and it goes ok I mean it got stuck but I decided to abandon that one and go to pertam so I land and it wasn't the best landing some stuff was damaged and the landing gear broke again so I then fixed everything and tried to land again this time making sure to go slowly and yet again the gear breaks am not a game dev and have very little knowledge of game engines but being that the landing gear shows the large magnetic plate and normal magnetic plate as variants I would recommend as somebody with very little knowledge of game development buffing the damage resistance of the magnetic plates to deal with this issue
Hello Ben,
thank you for reaching our forum with this problem.
Sadly, when I have tried it on my side, I did not experience any "over-the-top" damage to magnetic plates using as landing gear when landing. It was working just fine on my end.
Can you please share me a video of these landings and how the magnetic plates get damaged/destroyed in the process?
Also please share me any of the affected save file with the affected grid already in place, so I can try and mimic your actions on my side in your exact environment and with the exactly same grid when following the steps/actions from the video(s).
You can access your save files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers\Saves. There should be a folder with your SteamID and your saves.
Please zip the file and attach it here. If you are having difficulty attaching files you can optionally use Google Drive. When sharing a google drive link please make sure it is set to be downloadable by anyone with the link.
Thank you in advance.
Kind Regards
