Dx11 error message

Won't Fix

I get the message : "the current version of the game requires a Dx11 card. \n for more information please see : ... "

I tried uninstalling and deleting app data. Getting the same result.

It was once working on the same machine before.

Hello, Simon,

thank you for reaching our forum with this problem.

The thing is that the HW requirements changed in time for the game. So the sole fact that it was working "in the past" is not guaranteeing that it should work now as well. Do you maybe know how much time there went from the last time you played the game and it was working on the system you are using?

As you can see, it is now actually mandatory to have the graphical card that is able to work under DirectX 11; as you can e.g. see here: https://www.spaceengineersgame.com/system-requirements/ it is required for Minimal req. as well.

So from this point, there is nothing more I can help you with now in regards to be able to play the whole game with all the new features, sadly, since you are most likely not meeting the requirements to play it.

But you can try to switch the game to the DirectX 9 branch to see if you can play at least the older version of the game. To do so, please navigate yourself to your Steam Library, right click on SE game, go to Properties, Betas, and you should be able to find there branch called "dx9-32bit - compatibility branch for dx9 and 32 bit". If you switch to this branch and let the game update to the data that are present there, you might be able to launch the game and play it.

If this won't help you, and you think that your PC is meeting the requirements in order to play it, please share me the log files from your game (if any are created), or you can try to look for the logs from Windows event viewer. Or share me at least the "dxdiag" file from you PC so I can evaluate.

For logs:

You can access your log files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers.

just find part called: "Problem: When the game does not start and does not produce any log file."

You might also want to try other troubleshooting tips mentioned there.

Please let me know if the dx9 branch is working for you, or you need more help from our side. In that case, please share me the logs and your HW specs so I know if you would be able to play the game in the current version.

I'm using a Framework Laptop 16 with two graphics cards and AMD Adrenaline Edition software. I'm hoping that the two docks can help you find the problem.

I haven't played the game for a long time and because of the new update coming up I'm back. I really want the problem to be resolved. I've tried many things, and it still doesn't work.
