Won't Fix

Greetings Keen Software House Support Team!

So i noticed while playing Space Engineers that it is using my CPU at 100% and that it is using my GPU at 0%! So if you could help me with this problem and if you know anyhow i can make Space Engineers use my GPU instead of my CPU i would really appreciate it because i feel like my CPU is going to get melted this way!

Thanks in advance!

Hello, engineer!

Thank you for writing to us.

Could you please check if you have your dedicated GPU selected in the Options (from the game's Main Menu) > Display > Video Adapter? Ensure that your dedicated GPU, which could be Nvidia or AMD, is selected. If not, select your dedicated GPU, click OK, confirm the changes, and restart the game when prompted.

Please also make sure that your dedicated GPU drivers and OS are up to date.

When the game restarts, check if that changes the CPU/GPU usage.

If the issue still persists, try the following steps:

  • Set CPU Affinity:

Manually set the CPU affinity for the Space Engineers process to ensure it uses all available cores. Open Task Manager, go to the "Details" tab, right-click the Space Engineers process, select "Set Affinity," and choose all available CPU cores.

  • Adjust Process Priority:

Set the game's process priority to high. Open Task Manager, go to the "Details" tab, right-click the Space Engineers process, select "Set Priority," and choose "High."

If the issue persists after following the above steps, kindly try the following to reduce CPU load and improve game performance:

  • Lower Graphics Settings:

From the game's main menu, go to Options > Graphics > Quality Preset, select Low or Medium from the drop-down menu, and click OK to save the changes.

  • Disable V-Sync:

From the game's main menu, go to Options > Display > Enable Vertical Sync. Click OK to save changes.

Please let us know if any of the above workarounds resolve the issue for you.

If the above workarounds still don't help, please send us the game's log file and a screenshot of the GPU/CPU load from your device's Task Manager while running Space Engineers. Also could you please confirm if this issue started to occur recently (after recent game update to the 204 version) or if it has been the same from the beginning?

  • You can access your log files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers.

Kind Regards,
