Won't Fix

I have encountered to the problem about CPU threads usage not being use since 1.204 major update dropped, I have evidence picture from both old and new update.

My pc spec

Core I5-13600K

RAM DDR5-5200 32GB

GPU Intel ARC A770 (8GB)

- I've tested in no modded save and still have issue so I'm pretty sure it's not problem from mods.

- I've tested in new world and still have issue.

- I've try to load (a lots of) large ships and threads are still not being in use.

Hello, engineer!

Thank you for writing to us, and we sincerely apologize for the issue you have been experiencing.

Please follow the below steps to manually set the CPU Affinity and priority for the Space Engineers so that they can better utilize the CPU resources.

Set CPU Affinity:

Manually set the CPU affinity for the Space Engineers process to ensure it uses all available cores.

  • Open Task Manager, go to the "Details" tab, right-click the Space Engineers process, select "Set Affinity," and choose all available CPU cores.

Adjust Process Priority:

Set the game's process priority to high.

  • Open Task Manager, go to the "Details" tab, right-click the Space Engineers process, select "Set Priority," and choose "High."

After following the above steps if the issue with Space Engineers persists, kindly try the below steps as well which will reduce the CPU load and improve game performance;

Lower Graphics Settings :

From the game's main menu, go to Options > Graphics > Quality Preset > from the drop-down, click on Low or Medium > click OK to save the changes.

Disable V-Sync :

From the game's main menu, go to Options > Display > Enable Vertical Sync. Click on OK to save changes.

Also make sure, your graphics drivers and OS are updated, and change the Windows power settings to a high-performance power plan to ensure the CPU is running at maximum performance.

Please let us know if any of the above mentioned workaround resolves the issue for you.

Kind Regards,

Hi, thanks for answer me, after I tried those methods, it unfortunately doesn't work for me. (it give me very similar results)

- my drivers are up to date (included GPU driver)

- my power plan is already set to maximum performance

but this seems like to be fixed by upgrade to Windows 11 (I face that problem while I'm on Windows 10)

*CPU usage

but simulation speed is kinda slow compared to *CPU usage (I spawned lots of AIs and Giant ships to try to make game use CPU as much as possible)

while this problem still occur to my friend who is still using Windows 10

Hello, engineer!

Thank you for providing additional information.

Has the issue been resolved after upgrading to Windows 11, or is it still persistent? Is the simulation speed image you shared from Windows 11 or Windows 10?

Has your friend updated their Windows 10 to the latest patch? If not, updating to the latest version might resolve the issue for them as well.

Kind Regards,
