Drill bug

Won't Fix

Hello. I seem to be having trouble with mining on my rover drill rig. when I right or left click to mine one of the drills on the machine seems to lag or forget its job. It plays the animation and smokes/sparks but does not deform the voxels or collect the minerals in front of it for some time and barely makes a dent when it does. Sometimes they even switch

They are on sub grids and the only mods are for the tracks and one to control the arms

Hello, Thomas!

Thank you for writing to us.

Since you mentioned using MODs, it is quite possible that the issue might have occurred because of these MODs/Scripts active in your world. To confirm this, please create a blueprint of your rover. Then, go to the Main menu > Options > Game and temporarily disable/uncheck Experimental Mode (this will prevent MODs/Scripts from running). Save the changes and start a new Earth Planet world in creative mode. Paste your rover's blueprint here and check if the issue persists.

If the issue does not occur, it is likely due to the MODs/scripts that the issue occurred previously. Unfortunately, we cannot provide support for MODs/Scripts, as there are thousands of them, and it is the responsibility of the MOD/Script creators to keep them updated and compatible with the game's latest version.

If the issue persists in the new world as well, please send us a screen recording/video showing the issue along with the new world save file where you experienced the issue.

  • You can access your save files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers\Saves. There should be a folder with your SteamID and your saves.
  • Please zip the file and attach it here. If you are having difficulty attaching files you can optionally use Google Drive. When sharing a google drive link please make sure it is set to be downloadable by anyone with the link.

Kind Regards,
