Cannt Attach Hinge Part on Small Grid

Won't Fix

Since the Signal update, I am unable to attach a small grid hinge part to an interlocking hinge (i.e. when the hinge part is in the correct location and orientation, sharing the sme square as the hinge itself).

I have tried this on two separate grids and three separate hinges on one of those grids.

Detached hinges are adjacent to existing attached hinge. I have not tried this with a hinge not located adjacent to another hinge. Prior to the update, this worked fine on both grids.

Could you kindly provide more information regarding this issue?

Have you experienced it on a modded world/server (with active MODs/Scripts)? If so, would you be able to create a blueprint of your grid where the issue occurred and paste it into a vanilla world/server (without any active MODs/Scripts) to see if the issue persists?

If the issue persists, please send us a screen recording/video showing the issue, along with the blueprint of your grid.

You can access your blueprints files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers\Blueprints. Select the correct folder where your blueprint is saved (local or cloud), zip the file and attach it here.

Hi, and thanks for your reply.

I did a bit more investigation today and found that the issue is with Build Vision 3.0 mod. I will reach out to the Build Vision owner to discuss further, but FYI the details are below:

If I remove build vision and attach and detach through the control panel then it works perfectly on any grid.
If I reinstate Build Vision then use the control panel again without using build vision, then the attach and detach work fine.
If I then use Build Vision to attach, nothing happens visibly to indicate the hinge part has attached (hinge is still shown as "Detached")
If i then go back into the control panel for that grid, the hinge is shown as attached (with DETACH visible and enabled in the options) but using the DETACH button does nothing.

It's almost like Build Vision tries to action the "attach" command then errors before completion leaving the hinge in a sort of limbo.

As I said, I will report this to the workshop as well.

Thank you for sharing additional information.

While it seems the issue is occurring due to the specifically Build Vision 3.0, but just to confirm, could you try creating a new vanilla world (with no MODs/Scripts active) and check if the issue didn't occur there? If the issue doesn't occur there, then the MOD (specifically Build Vision 3.0 as you mentioned) is causing the issue.

It's important to note that we don't and can't provide support for issues caused by MODs, as there are thousands of them out there, and it's the MOD creator's responsibility to keep their MODs compatible with the game's latest version.
