Custom turrets shooting main grid.

Won't Fix

Custom turrets are in a bad state, they tear through their own ship and can't be positioned many places that don't stick out like a boner, still would be missing well over half their potential movement range positioned that way limiting pitch and yaw. Probably some technical reasons why they can't work just like regular turrets being multiple grids but at least let us disable their friendly fire either per turret or globally. Not sure if this is a bug but they just don't work in many of the what I think are intended situations and boarder on useless unless manually controlled. Meanwhile they are one of the potentially sickest parts of making a combat ship but it takes a ton of extra time and effort for it to just destroy it's ship or barely work at all. Ideally AI just wouldn't shoot if a friendly or neutral grid is in the line of fire of any of the connected guns.

Hello, RSorensen!

Thank you for writing to us.

The issue you described appears to be similar to the one reported in this thread. However, if your issue is different, could you please provide us with more details?

Did you experience the issue in a modded world/server (has active MODs)? If so, could you kindly create a new vanilla world (has no active MODS/Scripts) and check if the issue occurred there as well? If not the issue might have occurred due to MODs.

If the issue persists in the vanilla world as well, kindly send us a screen recording/video showing the issue, and the vanilla world save or a blueprint of the grid where you experienced this issue.

  • You can access your save files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers\Saves. There should be a folder with your SteamID and your saves.
  • Please zip the file and attach it here. If you are having difficulty attaching files you can optionally use Google Drive. When sharing a Google Drive link please make sure it is set to be downloadable by anyone with the link.
  • You can access your blueprints files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers\Blueprints. Select the correct folder where your blueprint is saved (local or cloud), zip the file, and attach it here.

Kind Regards,
