Ignore Last Session

Greetings KeenHouse,

I back up the server, etc, then i try to Ignore last Session

I have a server i'm renting on HavocHost.com and when i toggle forget last session, it reverts to an empty world. i do a restore to bring back all the grids and configurations.

is there something out of sync? or setting misaligned?

I have many players and would like to implement a chance but it seems like it doesn't get added in cause it's using the cashed save vs what's in the CFG file.

Hello,

Thank you for contacting Keen Software House.

First of all, the function "Ignore last session" is indeed ignoring last session and starting brand new world from the scratch. So from the text itself that you shared here, it actually looks that it is working as designed and expected.

Please note that this function is in the game mainly for the scenarios reasons, where it was/is used to start all new session, with all new world, once ticked. We strongly recommend you to leave this option ticked Off.

Anyway... can you please let me know what was the reason why you wanted to enable this option in a first place? Maybe we can advice you some other approach to get the same result.

It would also help if you would be able to share us the config file of the server, so we can view its settings.

Thank you in advance for your reply if any more help is necessary from our side.

Kind Regards

on the support page:   https://medievalengineerswiki.com/w/Keen:Dedicated_Server_Configuration

It says "ignorelastsession     -ignores last automatic save of the world and uses values from config file"

because what i've read, it doesn't "reset" the world because the setting "reset world"   is meant for.

I have used Ignore last session on my former server and it never reset my world, it just used settings from the CFG that i have changed instead of using the Cached setting.

Like MOD's that don't load cause the settings aren't in the cached information; but only new in the CFG; the world would need to be told to update it's info with the new settings the user has modified.

Nitrado hosting service has taught me this and been using the setting for years and has worked great when things start to get wonky or need to reset the NPC's that supposed to spawn.

Unless you know of a way to reset the NPC's that no longer respawn due to whatever reason??

Hello,

thank you for the additional information.

However, this goes far beyond what I can do for you here on the messages.

I will switch this message to our support forum, so our dedicated support QA can investigate this more thoroughly.

Please practice patience when waiting for our QA to take a look on this. There will be a comment on the thread and change of status, once there is any kind of result.

Thank you for your understanding.

Kind Regards
