Problem with Antenna on a small grid

Solved

So - there is a problem with the Antenna on a small grid:

I'm building a small boat in Creative mode (!)

it has both a reactor for energy and an antenna (!)

I can build for half an evening, and enter its Control Panel remotely - through the Antenna (!) ... BUT at some incomprehensible moment - I am DISCONNECTED from the control panel of this structure, and in the list of “available structures” there are OTHER structures in mainly on the Large Grid, BUT THERE IS NO SMALL STRUCTURE, which I am building now (!!!!!!)

And such a problem with the connection disappearing == VERY OFTEN (!) :(

I try to remove the antenna and reinstall it (a new antenna), but this DOES NOT ALWAYS help (!) :(

Even rebooting the game doesn't always help...

If you need Logs, tell me WHERE they are and I will provide them (!)

Hello, Frunzik,

thank you for letting us know about this and we are sorry that this problem is happening to you.

Can you please provide me more information about this?

I have tried for some time to play around with the grids (small, large) with antennas, but everything was working for me just fine.

Since you are writing "...BUT at some incomprehensible moment - I am DISCONNECTED from the control panel of this structure", I take it that it is happening to you randomly, more then that there is some set of steps to reproduce this, right?

Are you experiencing this problem in just one save or in multiple?

Are there any steps you took before this issue starts to happen to you, that you would be aware of and I can follow these?

Are you sure you are not just away from the antenna range?

Does this issue happen in modded game(s) or you did observe it also in game without any mods?

Can you please share me the affected safe file with all the grids already there? It would be nice if you can also write me some steps or description of that save, grids present there and your actions, so I can try to follow them exactly.

You can access your save files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers\Saves. There should be a folder with your SteamID and your saves.

Please zip the file and attach it here. If you are having difficulty attaching files you can optionally use Google Drive. When sharing a google drive link please make sure it is set to be downloadable by anyone with the link.

Thank you in advance.

Kind Regards

Hello Ondrej !

The solution was suggested on Discord!

Everything turned out to be very simple!

You - into the game "Space Engineers" you introduced the "ANTENNA IN THE SPACE SUIT" (!)

... in other games this is missing! To enter the ship's control panel, you need to be a short distance from it! and this will be ENOUGH to enter the structure control panel (!) :)

You - unlike other similar games == entered "ANTENNA IN THE SUIT", and when I ACCIDENTALLY disabled it ("O" key) - I received a DISCONNECTION from the structure control panel (!).

And to be honest - after other games - it was a SHOCK for me (!) О_О

I think - this should give you some ideas - in the game - in F1 in the "control" section == the line with "O - disconnecting the antenna" == highlight in RED, and next to it put "an exclamation mark in a yellow triangle" (!): )

so that any newbie should pay attention to this point and not be scared :)

........

At the same time, let me make a PROPOSAL:

When the character is close to a structure, or is looking at it, then when you press the "P" button, open the Control Panel of the NEAREST structure, or the structure that the player is looking at (!)

This will be much more convenient than spending extra time choosing the structure from the list that the Player wants to connect to!

Please think about this!

Thank you :)

Good luck! :)

Hello, Frunzik,

thank you for your reply.

I am very happy to see that you managed to solve this yourself in the meantime.

Since there is nothing more I can help you with regarding this problem, I will close this thread now.

As for your suggestion, we have a specific part of our forum for players to write down their suggestions and feedback.

You can find our Feedback section here. Please feel free to put this idea of yours there as well.

Happy Engineering!

Kind Regards
