Event Controller Bug - Connector Ready to Connect

Need More Information

I have discovered a bug while setting up a semi-automated ship docking/undocking process. It is to do with incorrect reporting of a event controller searching for connector ready to lock, saying it is ready to lock, when it is actually connected.

My setup: I have a timer group containing two timers, one timer for unlocking and starting up the ship, the second for locking and shutting down the ship. The timer group is on my toolbar and set to trigger both when pressed, but using event controllers, only the timer in the correct connector state will actually trigger. Depending on the state of the ship in relation to the connector, determines whether each timer is either ON or OFF, making a third option to avoid accidental shutdown, with both timers OFF when completely away from connector.

I have an event controller turning on the startup timer when connector connected, OFF during other states. A second event controller has the shutdown timer ON when connector ready to connect, OFF in other states.

The bug occurs when the connector is in a connected state. The first event controller searching for this states reports this correctly, but the second event controller searching for ready to lock reports that it is ready to lock, despite it actually being connected, which is the state it is in.

Hello, engineer!

Thank you for writing to us.

Did the issue occur in a modded world (with active MODs) or in a vanilla world (with no active MODs/scripts)? If it happened in a modded world, could you please remove all MODs from the world save and check if the issue persists in a vanilla world?

If the issue still occurs in the vanilla world, kindly send us the vanilla world save file where we can reproduce this issue, along with a screen recording or video showing the issue. Additionally, please include the log file from the time when the issue occurred on your end.

  • You can access your save files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers\Saves. There should be a folder with your SteamID and your saves.
  • Please zip the file and attach it here. If you are having difficulty attaching files you can optionally use Google Drive. When sharing a google drive link please make sure it is set to be downloadable by anyone with the link.
  • You can access your log files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers.

Kind Regards,

Keen Software House: QA Department

Hi. Thanks for your prompt response.

I have created a basic 100% vanilla test world to replicate the bug. It's published as a unlisted steam workshop item: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3106420560

Attached is a screen shot showing 'ready to connect event controller', at a time when the connector is in a connected state.
