Space engineers: problem with steam cloud, saving, and publishing blueprints to Steam.

Michael Herbert Wineberger shared this bug 5 months ago
Won't Fix

Dear steam support, I know it’s my dad dad who has the email to my steam account when I was still a teenager. I can ask him to vouch for me on that if you want. Anyways, my problem is that whenever I try to blueprint something with steam cloud enabled in the setting for space engineers, it can’t blueprint it like usual it just goes to an old blueprint. It’s also having a problem with publishing blueprints that are saved on my computer I’ll see if I could send you a video about it but I’ll send you some pictures as well. When I go to see these blank items that are on the workshop, which are most likely the ones I tried to publish, they appear as blank and they’re set to private. But the problem is that I can’t get them to be not private anymore. If you can help me, that would be great. And very appreciated.

Thanks,

Michael Wineberger

Hello, Michael!

Thank you for writing to us, and we sincerely apologize for the issue you have been experiencing.

Could you please confirm whether you're playing Space Engineers via Family Sharing or if you own the game? If you're using Family Sharing, it's important to note that uploading items to the Workshop is restricted due to limited workshop privileges by Steam itself (to know more, please reach out to Steam support). To upload items, you'll need to purchase or own the game.

If you already own the game, please check if you have sufficient cloud storage available for uploading blueprints/items. You can do this by navigating to Steam Library > right-clicking on Space Engineers > General > and checking the available space in the Steam Cloud section. Additionally, ensure that you're in Online mode on Steam. If your cloud space is full, you can disable the cloud in-game (Launch the game > Main Menu > Options > Game > uncheck Steam Cloud > click Ok), and your blueprints will then be saved locally, which can also be uploaded to the Steam workshop.

If you're still encountering issues uploading blueprints to the Steam workshop (only if you own the game), kindly provide us with a screen recording/video showing the issue and the log file from when this issue occurred.

  • You can access your log files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers.

Kind Regards,

Hello, Michael!

We would like to confirm if we understand correctly, you are not playing the game via Family Sharing, and you own the game. Is that correct? If so, please send us the log file as requested in our previous response. Additionally, if possible, could you provide a screen recording or video showing the issue you have been experiencing?

Kind Regards,
