Hello, Emmanuel!

Thank you for writing to us, and we sincerely apologize for the issue you have been experiencing.

Could you please provide more details regarding this issue? For example, does the issue occur when stopping the server from DSGUI or when a player exits or leaves the server? Are there any MODs active on this server? If so, does the issue still occur when there are no MODs on the server? Does this issue cause the server to crash completely when it occurs?

Please try verifying Space Engineers Dedicated Server's tools files on Steam, as this might resolve the issue:

  • Right-click on Space Engineers Dedicated Server in Steam Library → Properties → Installed Files → Verify integrity of tool files

Once all files have been successfully verified, relaunch the server and check if the issue persists.

If the issue still occurs, please send us the complete log files (both of the server and the player) when the issue occurs, the server save file where this issue occurred, and also repro steps (if there are any).

  • You can access your server save files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineersDedicated\Saves.
  • Please zip the file and attach it here. If you are having difficulty attaching files you can optionally use Google Drive. When sharing a Google Drive link please make sure it is set to be downloadable by anyone with the link.

Kind Regards,

Hello, Emmanuel!

Dedicated Server could get stuck in loops of restarting because it may have failed to load any broken/obsolete MOD(s). To be ensure about this, it is recommended to kindly remove all MODs from the affected DS and check if the issue persists. If it does, as requested in our previous response, please send us server save and log files.

Kind Regards,

Hello Emmanuel,

You are not launching the Dedicated server as admin, please do so. Also another process is currently working with the log file in C:\Users\emmanuel\AppData\Roaming\SpaceEngineersDedicated, please deactivate this program. You also have to open port 8080 for the dedicated server to work properly.

After these steps restart your computer and try to launch server again. If you are still unable to, please share your entire log file with me.

Thank you in advance.

Hello Emmanuel,

You will not need to deactivate the log file in C:\Users\emmanuel\AppData\Roaming\SpaceEngineersDedicated. It means that another program is using it. Without examining your computer I cannot tell which programs you are using on your PC and you need to investigate it yourself, then deactivate the process.

Thank you for understanding.
