Assertion message when loading (any type) worlds
The attached file is the message that pops up on my screen only when trying to open any world on space engineers (windows 10, steam version, game build id 12143844). this message is so long, that i can only snip a prt of it as the rest is off schreen.
Whenever this happens, I cannot click the power button on taskbar (where you select sleep shut down or restart) and the message itself, although having an X at the top right, cannot be closed, no matter the mode of doing so. Nor can i open the game itself (the game is running in the background but i cannot open it in front of me). the only way for me to remove the message itself is by restarting my pc.
The generic attempts at fixing like verification of game file integrity, pc restart, game uninstall and reinstall, etc... have not worked.
i searched for any kind of other solution but i found nothing.
Thanks,
Cayden
Hello, engineer!
Thank you for writing to us, and we sincerely apologize for the issue you have been experiencing.
Could you kindly provide us with more information?
Has this issue recently started occurring (perhaps after the latest Windows or driver updates)?
Does the issue occur when loading both older saves and new worlds as well? Does it persist when you attempt to join a multiplayer server too (to check this, try joining any of Keen's official servers)?
Please ensure that your game is updated to the latest version and try verifying game files again. Additionally, consider trying the following workarounds, as they may help resolve this issue;
Delete SpaceEngineers.cfg file
Delete ShaderCache folder
Once done, please launch the game via Steam, and create/load a new vanilla (unmodded) world, and check if the issue still occurs.
If the issue persists, please send us the log files when the assert appears or the game crashes.
Kind Regards,
Keen Software House: QA Department

hello!
this issue has indeed only started occurring recently, a day before I posted this, though I am unsure if it was because of any windows or driver updates.
Yes it persists. this issue occurs with any kind of world.
As instructed, I re-installed VC Redist 2017 (the actual download was 2015 - 2022, I could not find a specific 2017 version).
I have also noticed that the assertion popup only appears when loading the world stops at 92% as it did once again even after heeding the instructions given.
The attached fil is what I can assume to be the log file before I had to restart my PC.

Hello, engineer!
After reviewing your log file, it appears that the game couldn't locate the config (.cfg) file. There are a few workarounds to resolve this issue, but before proceeding with those, please try the following steps. These steps might resolve the issue without requiring additional workarounds:
Verify your game files on Steam
Once all the files are verified successfully, launch the game via Steam and start a new world without changing its name and disabling Auto Save.
If the issue persists, to resolve the missing config issue, you can ask a friend, family member, or other player who plays Space Engineers to share their SpaceEngineers.cfg file with you, which can be found in their \AppData\Roaming\SpaceEngineers folder. You can then paste that file into your \AppData\Roaming\SpaceEngineers folder.
Or, you can either perform a clean installation of Space Engineers. Before you proceed with the clean installation, please make sure to back up your Save and Blueprint folders from the following directories:
Move or copy these folders to a different folder or drive to prevent any loss of your game progress and blueprints after the reinstallation.
Please follow these steps to perform a clean installation:
Reinstall Space Engineers through Steam and launch the game from there.
If the game launches without any issues, you can then move your previously backed-up Saves and Blueprint folders back to the \AppData\Roaming\SpaceEngineers directory.
If the issue persists, please send us the latest log file from when the crash occurred/when the assertion message appeared.
