Dedicated Server Issues
Won't Fix
I have Space Engineers running on my server machine that i own. i port forwarded 27016 so thats all good. done everything to set it up. its set for public and private. I can see my server in the LAN tab, but not the "SERVERS" tab. i can connect to it thru LAN, but when anyone else tries to connect thru LAN it tells them my server isnt responding. this has became a whole headache!
ALSO: I have to have Steam running on the server machine to launch Space Engineers Dedicated Server, so how am i supposed to host it, but be able to play on it from my actual gaming PC? because you cant have steam logged in on multiple computers.

Firstly, you can launch the Space Engineers Dedicated Server Manager without starting Steam by following these steps:
1) navigate to \Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\SpaceEngineersDedicatedServer\DedicatedServer64
2) find the SpaceEngineersDedicated application
3) run it as an administrator.
Regarding the issue where other players cannot connect to your server via LAN, please confirm that these players are on the same network and that there are no active VPN connections on this network.
Additionally, please note that Private servers do not appear in the Servers list. You may want to try making your server Public to see if that resolves the issue.

Ok so i got it to launch without opening steam on my server machine. I still am having trouble getting my server visible to the "SERVERS" tab when i want to join online. ive got 27016 port farwarded. Host IP is set to my server machine. Ive made sure the SpaceEngineersDedicated is open to traffic thru the firewall. Im just not sure whats stopping my server from being visible online. i can direct connect but nobody outside my network can directly connect. only other thing is all my connections are on an unmanaged switch. but ive had no trouble before with anything else.

Thank you for the update. We are glad to know that you can now launch the Dedicated Server Manager without starting Steam.
Concerning issues with porting the server, in order for other players to be able to reach your server, you will have to configure your router to forward all incoming UDP traffic on port 27016 to the computer/machine where your dedicated server is running.
Kindly configure your router accordingly or contact your router support for further assistance.
