Won't Fix

While playing on survival, unmodded, when the parachutes are deployed either automatically or manually, they will not actually deploy and they will just be invisible. like they are not there, however they still do rotate the ship.

Hello, Tyler!

We have attempted to replicate the issue on our end, and we found that the parachute deploys correctly, both manually and automatically, at Low, Mid, and High graphic presets in Survival Mode.

Please note that in Survival Mode, the Parachute Hatches will only deploy if a set of canvas items has been loaded into the Parachute Hatches' inventory. Each time the hatch is deployed, one set of canvas items will be consumed. Additionally, there are specific conditions for the parachute hatch to open:

  • The ship must be in a dense atmosphere.
  • It must be loaded with one set of canvas items.
  • It must be in a natural gravity environment.

You mentioned that the ship rotated, but the parachute was not visible. Did the ship's speed also slow down?

Please also try following steps that could help in resolving this issue;

Verify your game files on Steam

  • Right-click on Space Engineers in Steam Library → Properties → Installed Files → Verify Integrity of Game Files

Delete SpaceEngineers.cfg file

  • It means your game configuration will be deleted
  • You can access your SpaceEngineers.cfg by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers.

Delete ShaderCache folder

  • Same access as SpaceEngineers.cfg

Once completed, please relaunch the game via Steam, load the world, or paste the blueprint of your ship into a new vanilla world. Check if the issue persists there.

If the issue still occurs, kindly send us a screen recording/video showing the issue, the world save file, or the blueprint of the affected ship, along with the log file when the issue occurred.

  • You can access your save files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers\Saves. There should be a folder with your SteamID and your saves.
  • Please zip the file and attach it here. If you are having difficulty attaching files you can optionally use Google Drive. When sharing a google drive link please make sure it is set to be downloadable by anyone with the link.
  • You can access your blueprints files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers\Blueprints. Select the correct folder where your blueprint is saved (local or cloud), zip the file, and attach it here.
  • You can access your log files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers.

Kind regards,
