maddox james vera preston shared this bug 14 months ago
Won't Fix

i have around three hundred hours on space engineers, i love the game and i usually just make worlds with mods and mess around with them , nothing more, recently my game has gone completely unplayable, even without mods, here are my issues :

1. mods will not load on games i create

2. i can no longer use " save as " any more, the game just says it is corrupted / etc

3. a strange thing occurs where i make a new wrold out of the custom game template " empty world " and it ends up replacing the actual template itself

i have tried to re download the game and etc a8a5aa243be5f7e6df5836f1cde43a7e

Hello, maddox james vera preston,

I am sorry you are experiencing problems with corrupted game. Can you please give me more information so I can better understand the issue?

What were the steps that you have tried to take? Was reinstalling the game the only one?

Has this happened after a particular action? Like updating your OS or Space Engineers?

Here are also some troubleshooting steps you can take:

Firstly deactivate all of your mods, scripts and plugins.

Then verify your game files in Steam

-Right click on Space Engineers in Steam Library → Properties → Installed Files → Verify Integrity of Game Files

Delete SpaceEngineers.cfg file

-You can access your SpaceEngineers.cfg by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers.

- It means your game configuration will be deleted (you can save a copy somewhere else on your computer)

Delete ShaderCache folder

-Same access as SpaceEngineers.cfg

Even though you tried to reinstall already, please back up your whole Space Engineers Roaming folder and delete it. Make sure all of the files are gone. Ten restart your computer and try to launch Space Engineers again.

Restart Steam

Reinstall VC Redist 2017

Update graphic drivers

Make sure your operating system is fully updated

If none of the above work, please share your log file with me.

  • You can access your log files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers.

Thank you in advance.

i have tried doing the steam back up file thing , and i am not sure what a roaming folder is either, i tried to un sub from mods i did not use on steam / i am not sure if this was from a particular action , one day i felt like playing space engineers and now it is completely different and now broken for some reason how do i deactivate the mods ? do i just unsub ? is there a way to do it without having to look up each mod again and resub it ?

Hello, maddox james vera preston,

the reaming folder is accessible only when you type %appdata% into your Windows search bar on your computer. Then simply click on the icon of the folder. That takes you to the Roaming folder and you can choose SpaceEngineers where all of your saves, blueprints and logs are located.

You can deactivate the mods by going to main menu, then click on Load game, choose the affected save and click Edit settings. Then click Mods and use the double arrow on the bottom to Deactivate all.

After that try to load the save file. Please let me know what happened and also try to take the steps which I suggested above. If none of that works, share your log with me which is in the SpaceEngineers folder.

Thank you in advance.
