Only getting sky box when joining servers

When you joined through the hotspot on your phone to the same server, there was no issue with the skybox? Have you tried to connect your computer to an Ethernet cable?

Given the steps you've already taken, it seems like the issue could be related to network connectivity or configuration. Since you've been able to join servers using your phone's hotspot, there might be something specific about your Wi-Fi network causing the problem. Here are a few additional steps you could consider:

1. Router Configuration: Check if there are any specific settings on your Wi-Fi router that might be causing issues with the game's connection. This could include firewall settings, port forwarding, or NAT configuration.
2. Firewall/Antivirus: Ensure that your firewall or antivirus software is not blocking the game's network traffic. You might need to add exceptions for the game in your security software.
3. Network Settings: Verify that your network settings are configured correctly. Sometimes, certain network configurations can cause issues with online gaming.
4. Network Speed/Stability: Make sure your Wi-Fi connection is stable and provides sufficient speed for online gaming. Slow or unstable connections can lead to issues.
5. IP Configuration: Check if your computer is obtaining the correct IP address from your Wi-Fi network. Incorrect IP configurations can impact online connectivity.

You can access your log files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers.

Here is the log file. I see this has been a problem before as there are a couple of post about it but no one seems to say what the solution was. The first log ending in 7497 was from my home WIFI ( not working ). Log 9786 is one from my phones hot spot that does work. Thanks for your help.

thank you for the logs. The reason why you are seeing only the skybox is because there is a delay between the client and the server. The game is trying to solve this by loading only the skybox until it gets the information from the server, which is intended when there is no immediate response from the client. That is also the reason why you could not find a solution for this.

I am not sure if the server you are trying to join is located for example in another country or if you connection is not strong enough. Both of these could be causing the issue. However since you can join through your hotspot the problem could be in the Wifi. I would suggest you to take the trouble shooting steps I gave you in my previous message.

Have you tried waiting for longer periods of time when joining the servers to give them more time to sync up?

Ok so had to go back to work yesterday. Different WIFI so I tried logging into the server and low and behold it worked!! So I disconnected and tried it again, this time got nothing but the sky box for about 3 seconds then it started to load in very slowly. I disconnected and was unable to log in and get anything other than the sky box unless I hooked to my hotspot. So you are correct it is taking it along time to load in sometimes if it does at all. Also my friend has a brand new gaming computer and is having the same issue joining mine or any other SE server. BUT he can join them from my hotspot. Im so lost on what this could be. Thank you for your help!

thank you for updating me on the issue. I would suggest you to contact your network provider and try to figure out where the problem can be. Perhaps even looking into your router settings. Since you can connect without a problem on a different Wifi or your hotspot there is not much I can do for you unfortunately as the problem is not with the game itself.
