Game not loading/crashing

Jack Wagner shared this bug 14 months ago
Won't Fix

Stuck on preparing to load world screen for tutorial, or complete freeze when making a custom game. Previously was stuck on a black screen with nothing loading until I added -skipintro to Steam run options.

I have reinstalled multiple times, verified game files, and have ensured .net framework, .net, and c++ are all currently up to date. Additionally I have tried a old suggestion to copy paste the VRage.library.dll and Vrage.windows files from the mod SDK to the game bin64, with no success.

Windows and GPU drivers are up to date.

Attached are the two latest .log files

Hello, Jack!

Thank you for writing to us, and we're sorry to hear that you're experiencing this issue.

Upon reviewing the provided logs, we haven't found any particular errors or exceptions.

To help you resolve this issue, we recommend trying the following steps:

1) Ensure that Steam is in Online mode and try again Verifying your game files in Steam to check if all files get verified successfully or not. To do so, Right-click on Space Engineers in Steam Library → Properties → Installed Files → Verify Integrity of Game Files

2) Delete SpaceEngineers.cfg file

  • It means your game configuration will be deleted
  • You can access your SpaceEngineers.cfg by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers.

3) Delete ShaderCache folder

  • Same access as SpaceEngineers.cfg

Additionally, please disconnect any secondary screens or monitors and run the game using the main screen/monitor only.

If the issue persists, you may need to perform a clean installation of the game, which means deleting every leftover in both the Roaming/SE and Steam SE folders. To do so, uninstall the game from Steam. Delete every leftover from \AppData\Roaming\SpaceEngineers and \Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\SpaceEngineers. Reinstall and start the game from Steam.

Kindly let us know if any of the workarounds have helped you in resolving the issue.

In case the issue still occurs, please send us the latest log from when the issue occurred.

Kind regards,
