Hello, David!

Thank you for writing to us, and we're sorry to hear that you're experiencing this issue.

Could you kindly share further information concerning this issue?

Are you experiencing this issue in Single Player mode, on Lobby/Dedicated Server, or on Keen's Official Servers?

Are there any MODs active in the world where you experienced this issue or any Plugin active in your game? If so, kindly disable them, and check again on the vanilla world (with no active MODs or Plugins) if the issue persists. Please also try changing the graphic quality preset to Low/Medium (from the Main Menu → Options → Graphics → Quality Preset → select Low or Medium → Save changes and start vanilla world) to check if that makes any difference.

If you still experience the issue on a vanilla world, please try the following workarounds that could resolve your issue;

Verify your game files in Steam (if already done, please try again and make sure all files get verified successfully)

  • Right-click on Space Engineers in Steam Library → Properties → Installed Files → Verify Integrity of Game Files

Delete SpaceEngineers.cfg file

  • It means your game configuration will be deleted
  • You can access your SpaceEngineers.cfg by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers.

Delete ShaderCache folder

  • Same access as SpaceEngineers.cfg
  • Backup your whole Space Engineers Roaming folder and delete it
  • Restart Steam
  • Reinstall VC Redist 2017
  • Update graphic drivers
  • Reinstall the game (try clean installation, which means deleting every leftover in the Steam/SpaceEngineers folder before reinstallation)
  • Make sure your operating system is fully updated

Once you have completed these steps, please start the game and check if the issue persists. If it does, kindly send us the latest log files from when the issue occurred.

  • You can access your log files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers.

Kind regards,
