Dedicated Server not starting with Steam networking

Hello Keen


I am a server hoster currently having a problem with launching the server using Steam Networking. When I try to start the server using Epic Online Service (EOS) the server successfully starts and connects to EOS and appears in the search menu as needed and players can join and play. But when I change the networking to Steam it launches successfully without giving any errors and says that it successfully connects to Steam servers but doesn't appear in the in-game search bar. I have checked the port 27016 and it is open. Console compatibility is off. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I did indeed

Port 27016 is open.

When the server is ran via EOS networking it runs perfectly, only when I switch it too steam does it not work.

try direct connecting with your ip and port if it doesnt work then you did something wrong

I am sorry you are experiencing this issue. Can you please share your logs and join screen screenshot with me?


  • You can access your log files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineersDedicated.

I am using a dedicated server host, Torch so I have both "torch logs" and "keen logs". Should I send over both?

I am sorry but Torch is a community effort and cannot be supported by our in-house team. You can ask for help on our Torch Discord community.


If you need help with non Torch server then please reach back to me.
