Subgrid becomes static when pasting

posthy shared this bug 9 months ago
Reported

I've pasted twice the same blueprint It has a base rotor for horizontal rotation, and a pair of rotor for vertical rotation.

The one on the left works fine, however on the right one the base rotor doesn't work anymore, like it's subgrid became static, even though the rotor is clearly still out of the voxel.

Hello, posthy,

thank you for contacting us. I tested this in my game. I build a simple construction of a rotor and a battery and tried to copy paste it couple of times. What I noticed was that the rotor stopped if I placed it deeper into the ground and would work if I placed it more above the ground. From the picture you shared I can see you did the same thing. Can you please let me know if the behavior is the same for you?

If not can you please share your world save or blueprint with me?

  • You can access your save files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers\Saves. There should be a folder with your SteamID and your saves.
  • Please zip the file and attach it here. If you are having difficulty attaching files you can optionally use Google Drive. When sharing a google drive link please make sure it is set to be downloadable by anyone with the link.

  • You can access your blueprints files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers\Blueprints. Select the correct folder where your blueprint is saved (local or cloud), zip the file and attach it here.

Thank you in advance.

Kind regards,

Hello

Yes, the behavior is the same. I didn't do extended tests to see how deep can I paste the grid into the ground and keep the rotor working, but I think it shouldn't stop as long as it's completely outside of the ground/voxel.
