Game Crashing Upon Selecting Spawn Method

Jackson Footit shared this bug 17 months ago
Solved

Upon selecting my spawn location, the game will crash. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, uninstalling, completely deleting the space engineers folder in %appdata% and reinstalling, and I've tried validating game files multiple times. My log file is attached and I'm seriously at a loss here.

I've also tried reinstalling VCRedist multiple times. If it means anything, I recently upgraded my motherboard, CPU, and GPU.

Hello, engineer!

We apologize that you're experiencing this issue.

You mentioned that you recently upgraded your device's hardware. Could you kindly check if your device drivers and OS are up to date?

If the drivers/OS are up to date, before launching the game, please verify the game files in Steam (Right-click on Space Engineers in Steam Library → Properties → Local Files → Verify Integrity of Game Files) and also remove/disable other display screens/monitors and run the game with main screen/monitor only.

If the crash still occurs, after launching the game, go to Option → Display → change current Window Mode to other modes. Save the changes made and start a new world.

If the issue persist, kindly send us the lates log file from when the issue occurred.

Kind Regards,

Keen Software House: QA Department

I was able to fix it by updating to a preview version of Windows 11. I’m assuming that reinstalled all my Windows software because that fixed it.
