Warfare 2 music overrides all other music

Solved

I've just installed the Warfare 2 DLC and there is now strident music constantly playing in the background that overrides all other ambient music to the detriment of the game. It doesn't appear to respond to the in-game audio settings. It's becoming very annoying. I've tried to uncheck the DLC in steam but the music still continues to play. I've even deleted all the music files to no effect. My only option is to reinstall the game without this DLC which would mean me losing all by in-game content. Can you suggest a fix or workaround?

thank you for contacting us and I am sorry you are experiencing this issue.


Have you checked your task manager for any background applications running?


Please also try to press "shift-tab" it game and it will pull up a browser. If you can find the source of the audio there you can close it.


Can you perform a thorough scan of your system using reputable antivirus or anti-malware software to check for any potential infections?


You can try to verify your game files in Steam:


-Right click on Space Engineers in Steam Library → Properties → Local Files → Verify Integrity of Game Files


If none of the advices above helped, can you please send me your latest log?


- You can access your log files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers.

Thank you very much for you prompt and excellent response. I followed your advice (shift-tab) which brought up the steam browser. Turns out the Warfare 2 page was open in a separate tab where your video for the DLC was playing. This was never present whenever steam opened on my desktop for the first time? Anyway, closing that tab solved the problem and the ticket can be closed. So, not really a bug but more a problem with steam misbehaving LOL.
