Crash

Travis shared this bug 10 months ago
Solved

After the latest update, Automatons, I became incapable of playing the game. The game itself would load, but when trying to join an online server it would crash immediately after logging in. If I tried to play offline, I could "play" for a few minutes, during which time no blocks could be placed and no textures loaded. After 7-8 minutes, it crashes. In both instances, the error report states that the graphic card couldn't handle it.

Hello, Travis,

thank you for contacting us and I am sorry you are experiencing this issue.

Can you please share your latest log from the time of the crash with me?

You can access your log files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers.

Can you try to update your graphic card and also verify your game files?

-Right click on Space Engineers in Steam Library → Properties → Local Files → Verify Integrity of Game Files

Thank you in advance.

Kind regards,

I've validated the files, which now appear to be under the name "Installed Files". I've also checked the "Updates and Security" section of my settings, but I don't have any pending updates.

Hello, Travis,

thank you for the log. Unfortunately your hardware does not meet the minimal requirements to run Space Engineers. Also your graphics card is not supported.

One thing you can try is to lower the graphics settings in game to the minimal or to none.

Go to Options >Display. Set the game to windowed mode and the resolution to 1280 x 720.

Then go back and go to Options >Graphics

Change the setting to:

Model quality: Low

Shader quality: Low

Voxel quality: Low

Texture quality: Low

Shadow quality: Disabled

Lights quality: Low

Antialiasing: None

Anisotropic filtering: Off

Field of view: 40

Flares intensity: 0.1

Grass draw distance: 49m

Grass density: 0.0

Tree draw distance: 500m

Ambient occlusion: Unticked

Enable damage effects: Unticked

Enable PostProcessing: Unticked

Thank you for letting me know if it helped.

Kind regards,
