Won't Fix

dear keenswh support

I'm gonna start off by saying I'm not sure if I should mention this here or if I should post feedback on your support website.

the issue im experiencing with the automatons is that when i use the AI recorder i can't see the waypoints, i have the AI recorder set to display on HUD and to show the path on HUD, i also seem to be having an issue with the pathing itself, since when i turn on precision and turn off collision avoidance it still seems to stop a good 2-3m away from where i placed the waypoint.

if i reported this in the wrong place please do let me know so i can put it in the correct place. if any additional information is required do let me know and ill provide as much as i can.

i'd like to thank you in advance for any assistance you can provide

kind regards

Thijs Hartjes

Hello, engineer!

Thank you for writing to us.

To view the recorded path, you also need to add an antenna to your drone/ship and enable the Show AI functions, to do this, please access your drone/ship's terminal, navigate to the Info tab, and enable Show AI functions. By doing so, the recorded path will be displayed.

Please note that when operating at very high speeds, some ships may have difficulty stopping precisely when the precision mode is enabled. In such cases, they may circle the target point or exhibit erratic behavior. To mitigate this issue, we recommend reducing the ship's top speed if you require the precision mode.

We kindly request that you inform us if following the above recommendation allows you to see the recorded path and if the ship/drone behaves as expected when the speed limit is decreased with precision mode enabled.

Kind regards,

Hello, engineer!

We apologize that none of the workarounds have helped in resolving your issue.

Could you please provide us with more information regarding this issue?

Are you experiencing this issue in a modded world (with active MODs)? If so, kindly paste the blueprint of your ship/drone in a vanilla world (with no active MODs or Plugins) and check if you still experience the same behavior.

If the issue still occurs, kindly try the following workarounds that might resolve the issue;

Verify your game files on Steam

  • Right-click on Space Engineers in Steam Library → Properties → Local Files → Verify Integrity of Game Files

Delete SpaceEngineers.cfg file

  • It means your game configuration will be deleted
  • You can access your SpaceEngineers.cfg by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers.

Delete ShaderCache folder

  • Same access as SpaceEngineers.cfg

After completing the above steps, please restart the game and check if the issue persists in the vanilla world. If it does, kindly send us a screen recording/video showing the issue happening at your end, the vanilla world save file where you're experiencing the issue with the drone/ship, and the log files when experiencing this issue.

  • You can access your save files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers\Saves. There should be a folder with your SteamID and your saves.
  • Please zip the file and attach it here. If you are having difficulty attaching files you can optionally use Google Drive. When sharing a google drive link please make sure it is set to be downloadable by anyone with the link.
  • You can access your log files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers.

We are looking forward to assisting you with this issue.

Kind Regards,
