DLC not showing up after purchasing all

Greetings,

I hope this message finds you well. I am reaching out to seek assistance regarding a discrepancy I have encountered while using Space Engineers. I apologize for any inconvenience caused and appreciate your attention in helping me resolve this matter.

For several years, I have been utilizing Steam Family Share on a single PC. During this time, I had Space Engineers, along with a few DLCs, on an account that I haven't used in years. Presently, I exclusively play on my main Steam account.

However, I recently encountered an issue. Despite purchasing the "Deluxe Edition" of Space Engineers, which includes all the remaining DLCs, I am unable to access certain features such as painting and character customization on my main account. I find it perplexing that I had access to a few DLCs previously, but now that I possess the complete set, I cannot utilize any of them.

I kindly request clarification on why this discrepancy has arisen and how I can regain access to the painting and character customization options with the newly acquired DLCs.

Thank you for writing to us.

Just to clarify, is your current main Steam account still using Steam Family Sharing to access the game from your old account, or have you purchased the game directly from your current main account?

If you are lending the game, the Steam Family Sharing feature works like this, the borrower will have access to the lender's game and DLCs, but only if the borrower does not already own the base game. If they already own the game, they will need to purchase the DLC themselves to play it. For more information, please visit the Steam FAQ.

If you have already purchased the DLCs, we kindly suggest trying restarting the game and Steam. Check if all DLCs have been checked in the Steam Library. To do so ;

  • Right-click on Space Engineers in Steam Library → Properties → DLC.

You can also try verifying the game files on Steam. To do so, follow these steps ;

  • Right-click on Space Engineers in Steam Library → Properties → Local Files → Verify Integrity of Game Files

Restart the game and check if the issue persists.

Yes, exactly. To make it more clear, I will try to explain like this:


Account A (primary) - do not own the game or DLC, but uses the sharing to play a game.

Account B (secondary) - own game + all dlc


Account B had Game + 2-3 DLS for years, all items from Account B were available on Account A (skins, blocks, paintings etc.).

A few days ago I bought all remaining DLCs on Account B and now on Account A I have access to Blocks only, no paintings, no customization of characters, no skins on tools, etc.

As you can see on this screenshot, I do not own the game on Account A (I put SE and Foundation game - that I own - into cart just to demonstrate that I do not have SE game).

So Account A - no game, no DLC, Account B - everything.


Steam Library → Properties → DLC

All checked.


Steam Library → Properties → Local Files → Verify Integrity of Game Files

Did not help, unfortunately.

We apologize that you are still experiencing the issue.

Another workaround you could try is re-authorizing your primary device. To do so, kindly follow the steps mentioned in this link.

Hi,


I did the reauth. again, but unfortunately, still not working.

The situation is the same, I can use blocks, but nothing else related to DLCs.

Hello, Daniel!

It is quite possible that the issue you're experiencing is due to Steam being in Offline Mode, which could be the reason why you couldn't access the skins in the game.

Could you please check if your Steam is currently in Online mode? To do this, click on Steam (in the top-left corner of the Steam client/window) and locate the 3rd option. If it says "Go Online," click on it, and a message pop-up will appear. Click on "Leave offline mode." Once Steam returns to online mode, please start the game and check if the issue persists.

I am in online mode for the whole time - as usual, as we play this save with my friend¨

(he has some DLCs and his items are available, he cannot build blocks from my DLC, only from his - make sense)


So my situation is still the same.

We are sorry to hear that the issue still hasn't been resolved.

As you have mentioned, did this issue occur when playing with your friend in the Lobby/Dedicated Server, or did it happen in single-player mode as well? Could you kindly check if the issue persists in single-player mode and in the vanilla world (with no active MODs or plugins)?

You can also try the workaround that resolved a similar issue for another player, as mentioned in the last comment on this link.

If the issue persists in the vanilla world, and even after trying the other workaround, kindly communicate with Steam support further, as the issue may be related to how family sharing works on Steam rather than being an issue specifically related to the game.

What helped was to go into Player B computer, log out of their account, log into Player´s A account on the machine. Download the DLC and install on Player´s A account but on the computer, log out, log in to Player´s B account and the DLC was then there.

I already tried that + as I mentioned above, I have access to ALL DLC blocks available - I just cannot change painting textures, engineer customization etc.

skins and painting textures are only available for the owner of the account. Are you using the account where you purchased the DLCs?

as I said before skins and painting textures are only available for the owner of the account. If they are visible on the account that purchased them then it works as intended and cannot be fixed.
