Odd steam workshop manifest error

Black Jesus shared this bug 17 months ago
Won't Fix

Hey there, I'm reaching out to the technical team as I've tried everything online to try and resolve this persistent issue with my Space engineers steam workshop. I have a reoccurring manifest error when steam validates my SE workshop files, meaning that it is stuck in an endless loop. I have tried unsubscrbing from everything, clearing the download cache, doing a clean install of SE and steam including removing appdata se folders, reinstalling the game and steam, logging in and out of steam, changing the steam server region. Nothing has made a difference at all.

This error began when I subscribed to a steam workshop collection, I loaded a world from that collection and there was a mod missing so I think SE tried to subscribe and download it, but it isn't available anymore, leaving an infinite loop of checking if the mod has been downloaded or not via validating all SE workshop files, finding thst it hasn't been downloaded, then trying to download it again. Thst then fails, gives a manifest error as the reason, the  reschedules the download for a few hours later.

It downloads SE mods with no issues, I play with mods sometimes, everytime I open the ingame blueprint menu to paste something, it restarts the validation process, same when I click play in steam.

I can provide any details for you to help diagnose this issue, just let me know what you need and I'll send it. Many thanks for taking the time to help me with this phantom issue :)

Hello, engineer!

Thank you for writing to us.

Usually, the manifest error can often be resolved by changing the download region or clearing the download cache. Since you have already tried those steps, please also try the following workarounds, which may help resolve the issue;

  • Run Steam as an Administrator
  • Logout of your Steam Account and log in again
  • Temporarily disabling Firewall/Antivirus/Windows Defender Firewall

and, try to re-validate the game files on Steam.

If none of the above mentioned workarounds solves the issue for you, we recommend contacting Steam's customer support since the Manifest Error isn't related to Space Engineers.

Kind Regards,
