Error loading the world

Won't Fix

When trying to log on to the RU2 server (where I already have buildings), a problem occurs, either freezes when loading and closes (without error) or with an error (photo attached),on all other servers where there are no buildings, it comes in without problems,also the single game works fine,for reference,my system i7 9600F 32G RAM 3060ti GPU,updated drivers,reinstalled the game,reduced graphics settings to a minimum before trying to log on to the server,no direct connection, just trying to log in 20 times until it lets go (sad smiley face),help.

Thank you for writing to us.

It seems the issue is related to the device's graphic driver crash. The exception in your log is a generic DirectX error indicating that the GPU driver is crashing/has crashed.

You can try the following workarounds that might resolve the issue ;

  • Update to latest GPU drivers (clean install)
  • Switch GPU driver settings to high-performance (i.e. not quality/high quality)
  • This could be also a hardware related issue, please keep in check your GPU temperature
  • If the GPU/system is overclocked, revert to stock clock speeds
  • Remove, clean, and reseat the GPU and connections

Please let us know if any of the above workarounds resolve the issue you're encountering.

The results are zero, also the game in most cases just freezes when loading RU2 and I close it through the task manager.

We are sorry to hear that none of the previously suggested workarounds resolved your issue.

In that case, could you please try the following workarounds and see if it helps?

Verify your game files on Steam

  • Right-click on Space Engineers in Steam Library → Properties → Local Files → Verify Integrity of Game Files

Delete SpaceEngineers.cfg file

  • It means your game configuration will be deleted
  • You can access your SpaceEngineers.cfg by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers.

Delete ShaderCache folder

  • Same access as SpaceEngineers.cfg
  • Back up your whole Space Engineers Roaming folder and delete it
  • Restart Steam
  • Reinstall VC Redist 2017
  • Update graphic drivers
  • Reinstall the game
  • Make sure your operating system is fully updated

If the game still crashes on joining the #RU2 server, kindly send us the latest log file, along with Windows Event Viewer log when the crash happens.

To get the Windows Event Viewer log, please open the Event Viewer (from the start menu, type Event Viewer). In the Event Viewer, go to Windows Logs, Application, and send the top “.NET Runtime” error from Application: SpaceEngineers.exe. (please see attached image).

To do this right, please follow these steps:

1) Select the correct file on the left side (Application)

2) Select first the .NET runtime error from the top (using default ordering)

3) Copy the large bottom text and send it to us.

Please Note: make sure that the info is from the Application: SpaceEngineers.exe

Thank you for providing further information. Could you please confirm if you are still experiencing the issue, or if it has already been resolved?

If the issue persists, we kindly suggest trying the following workarounds that may help resolve the problem:

  1. Download and run the DirectX End-User Runtime Web Installer.
    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35
  2. Update your operating system and graphics drivers.
  3. Change the Windows Mode in the game. To do this, from the main menu, select Options → Display, and change the Window Mode. Remember to save the changes. Then, try connecting to the server and check if the issue persists. Additionally, attempt to connect to other Keen Official Servers to see if the problem occurs there as well.

If you still experience the issue, we recommend performing a clean installation of the game. Before proceeding, ensure you backup all your blueprints and world save files in a separate folder. Uninstall the game from Steam and delete any remaining files in the /Roaming/SE and /Steam/SE directories. Then, reinstall the game and check if the issue persists.
