World corruption after update

goodevil shared this bug 20 months ago
Won't Fix

Hello,

it seems some of my worlds have corrupted themselves with the update to Automatons version. Is the attached world salvageable so that I can keep playing it? Can you let me know, if possible, what you do to fix corruption or what is the culprit in this world, so that i can repair other old saves?

Thank you ♥

Attached are the world files in zip and the logs of my last attempt to load it.

Hello, goodevil,

I am sorry you are experiencing this issue. Unfortunately, I looked at your save and you are running a lot of mods and scrips which are breaking the save. Since you have no backups as well I cannot restore the save. It is also best to create backups and also to deactivate any mods before a major update because the mods are not being updated fast enough and can break the game permanently.

Have you got any backups in the game or on your PC? Did you deactivate backup creation?

Thank you for understanding.

Hello,

I have additional questions for you.

Your Server log says, that the server crashed on physics after one of your player's characters died. It could be a coincidence, or could be the reason for the physics crash as the character could have died in a ship collision. I was able to load this world on my local DS and it was not crashing for me or saying that something is corrupted. I tried loading it in singleplayer as well and there it indeed says the world is corrupted. Are you able to load this world without corruption or crashing on your own DS? Were you trying to investigate what happened after the server crash by trying to load it in singleplayer because you sent me a log from single player?

I am attaching the save here and please try to launch it again as a multiplayer.

Thank you for letting me know if it worked.

Kind regards,
