AI combat block problems

First of all Love the Automation DLC!


My issues stems from the AI Combat block. When triggering my setup (2 timers+ AI Flight/combat) The Combat block looses all the selected weapons.


Details

It is a 4 drone setup.

Timer block 1A triggers boosters to leave launch pad as well as timer blocks 1B and 2A

Timer Block 2A Activates thrusters and AI blocks.

Timer block trigger triggers boosters to leave launch pad as well as timer blocks 1C and 2B

Timer Block 2B Activates thrusters and AI blocks.

-This continues to Timer blocks 1D and 2D


If I launch drone A solo the combat block keeps the selected weapons

but if launched in a group 3 of the drones no longer have any of the weapons selected.


I've separated the weapons by groups and added the separate weapons together- still drops

I've added all the weapons into the AI block before launching - Still drops.


I attempted to run out of experimental mode and still came up with the same issue, only one of the drones as weapons in the AI block.

Addendum: Drone A no longer keeps weapons. (seems to have kept weapons from early setup and not with all the timer blocks set together)

More testing. When running the timer the last drone Theta) to launch keeps the weapon grouping in the AI combat block. I decided to check what would happen if all the connectors and merge blocks were turned of at the same time. Results were that the first drone (Alpha) was the one to keep the weapons in the AI combat block.

Hello, Jason Swensen,


I am sorry you are experiencing this issue. I pasted your blueprint to my game and tried to launch the drones using the button. However all of them launched and started attaching an enemy, all of them also had their weapons selected. Can you please confirm that the bug is still present as there was a hotfix for some of the AI issues.

Hello

Just tested again (in creative) an still has the same issue.


I deleted the BP and put re-posted it. Failure


built it via welders in a builder. Failure


Created a new game and posted. Failure


Built via welders in new world. Failure.


the weapons continue to stay in the combat block while linked with the spine.


Attempted to give all the combat blocks all the weapons. Failure.


Attempted to launch drones, give them the weapon grouping again outside the spine then manually reattach them to the spine for another launch. Failure.

(Also discovered that drone Beta has a thrust override issue that I need to work out)

These tests were run in experimental with only one mod (extended welders) if it means anything.

More testing: Seems to revolve the 1x1 merge blocks. When turning them off it triggers the removal of the weapons.

Turned off all the merge blocks off at once and it was the Alpha drone, not the Theta drone that kept the weapons in the combat block

WARNING!!! Don't turn off all the merge blocks and then try to maneuver a drone. Klang happens lol!!

More testing: Physically connected all the drones via conveyor tubes. When grinding the tubes to separate the drone the weapon grouping is removed.

Joking aside, I'm pleased the issue was found and I hope it can be fixed soon.

This was my first time reporting a bug. Now that it's been reported what is the ETA on a fix of this scale normally?

Looks like with the newest update (9/23) The bug is even worse. Now only the last drone is keeping the pre-merge settings in the combat block as the rest just do nothing.
