unable to save blueprints to cloud

Ethan Day shared this bug 17 months ago
Won't Fix

I am having issues when i am trying to save one of my ships to the cloud, this is really aggitating as i have many ships i have built over time and i would like to get them on the steam cloud so i can actually keep them safe, when i click alt f10 to save one of my blueprints it just freezes for a second and then opens the menu but where it used to show the newly created blueprint, now it shows just my normal ones, and doesnt save at all.

Hello, Ethan,

thank you for writing to us regarding your issue.

If you want to save blueprints to cloud, you need to make sure that option is turned On in the game settings (Options – Game – Enable Steam cloud).

If you have this options On your blueprints will automatically save to cloud and not locally. Please keep an eye on the cloud storage used information in the Blueprints screen.

If there is enough space left, you should be able to save cloud blueprints without any issues. Please note that default shortcut for making a blueprint is Ctrl + B. Or you can also make a new blueprint with Ctrl + C (copy to clipboard) on the grid and then in Blueprints screen press the "Create new blueprint from clipboard" button.

Using F10, like you are doing is actually just opening the Blueprint screen so you can paste the blueprints to the game from there.

Please let me know if you are able to create blueprints like this.

If not, can you please provide me more information including the screen recording of this issue happening on your side?

Thank you in advance.

Kind Regards

i had a slight wording issue with my original request, what i meant to say is i have tried control B and even tried the save from clip board, but this doesnt work, all it does is as i said opens the menu after a brief freeze, ive made sure cloud save is on, do note, when cloud save is off it can save locally, but the issue occurs when i try to save when cloud is turned on.

Hello, Ethan,

this seems strange to me.

Are you sure you have enough space left for new BP in the cloud storage?

You can check in the Blueprints screen (see my image).

If you are positive that you have enough space left, can you please provide me the screen recording of this issue happening on your side, as asked in my last comment?

Also if you can provide me a log file from the game session where you try to do the blueprints like this and it fails, might help.

You can access your log files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers.

Below i have a minute long video of the issue happening, and shown it working locally but not cloud side, and the cloud having plenty of space left. and the logs that were created from that session in the video. thanks. for some reason i can only send either the logs and video seperately so i will have to do that

Hello, Ethan,

thank you for the video and logs. Can you please share your world save where this issue is happening and also the blueprints where you noticed this behavior?

  • You can access your save files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers\Saves. There should be a folder with your SteamID and your saves.
  • Please zip the file and attach it here. If you are having difficulty attaching files you can optionally use Google Drive. When sharing a google drive link please make sure it is set to be downloadable by anyone with the link.

  • You can access your blueprints files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers\Blueprints. Select the correct folder where your blueprint is saved (local or cloud), zip the file and attach it here.

Thank you in advance.
