Won't Fix

Hello team,

First of all I want to say I really like your game Space Engineers (70h in 1 month)

So, with 2 of my friends, we decided to play on a private server created on my PC. Since many day I forced to play alone because they can't join or at least they are stuck in "Streaming" mode (this evening we waited 30 minutes without result 😕)

And made many researches on web but topic about this problem are too rares and useless.

We had a lot of funny moments in your game and we want to continue to discover your universe. So if you have some solutions or advice, it will be really appreciated :D.

Awaiting your reply,

Greetings from France,

Hello, Ismaël!

Thank you for writing to us, and we are glad you're enjoying our game.

Concerning the issue, could you kindly share further information about it?

Is this private server a Lobby or a Dedicated Server (DS)?

Are there MODs active on this server? If so, the issue may be occurring because of obsolete or broken MODs. Kindly review the MODs that are active on this server and remove those that are obsolete/broken, or try to set up a new vanilla world/server (with no active MODs or Plugins) and check if your friends can join you there.

If the issue persists on the vanilla world/server, kindly send us the log files of your friend and your server when experiencing this issue.

  • Your friend can access log files by typing %appdata% into the Windows search bar and when redirected to the hidden Roaming folder, the log files can be found in the \Roaming\SpaceEngineers folder.

You can access your server log file as follow,

  • Type %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. If the said server is Lobby log files can be found in the \Roaming\SpaceEngineers folder. If the said server is DS, the log files can be found in the \Roaming\SpaceEngineersDedicated folder.

We are looking forward to assisting you with this issue.

Kind Regards,

Hello Team,

Many thanks for your email, I appreciate it,

So as you asked me, my server is Lobby Load (w/o me my friends can't join the game).

We're using any mods; it's a pure vanilla server. :D

So I joined you a link to DL, as a zip folder, my saves from my server (named "Host Saves").

Hello, Ismaël!

Thank you for providing the world save files. While investigating the world save at our end in Lobby mode, clients were able to join the Lobby without any issues. Can we ask if your friends are still unable to join you in the Lobby or if this issue has been resolved?

If the issue still persists, kindly try the following workarounds that might resolve this issue:

  1. Verifying the game files on Steam (Both you and your friend need to do that):
Right-click on Space Engineers in Steam Library → Properties → Local Files → Verify Integrity of Game Files.
  2. Ask your friends to update their OS and graphics drivers if they are not updated.
  3. If you or your friends are using a VPN, kindly disable it (or also temporarily disable antivirus to check the issue).

Once the above steps are completed, please start the game and launch the lobby world save, and your friends can try to join you.

If your friends still can't join you, kindly both you and your friends need to exit the game first and send us the latest log files. You and your friends can find the log files by following the steps below:

  • Log files can be accessed by typing %appdata% into Windows search bar and when redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. The log files can be found in the \Roaming\SpaceEngineers folder.

Kindly also ask your friends to run the DxDiag tool on their end and extract the report. Please send us their DxDiag report. The DxDiag report can be extracted by following the steps below:

  1. In Windows, select Start and enter "dxdiag" into the search box on the taskbar.
  2. Select "dxdiag" from the results.
  3. In the tool, select "Save All Information" for an easily shared text (txt) format.

Could you also confirm if your friends have Asus devices? If so, there have been reports that some players with Asus devices are experiencing connectivity problems.

We are looking forward to further assisting you with this issue.

Kind Regards,
