Landing gear control other grid bug or feature

Landing gears give the same control as connectors.
connect to another grid with a connector. set block controls for blocks on the other grid (groups don't work) now disconnect and latch on with the landing gear. All the greyed-out toolbar icons suddenly become active again. I can now use any of those controls to control the main ship I am landed on.
Very easy to replicate. I can add a video but any ship with landing gear and a connector to setup controls will work.
