[1.202] Slideshow Sync

Slushtrap Gamer shared this bug 12 months ago
Won't Fix

At random intervals, the game starts to sync clients at a slideshow quality. It creates very jagged motion of everything that is presumably client predicted, such as characters. Trigger yet unknown as the logs show nothing out of the ordinary.

Update:

After some experimentation, it would seem this behavior is caused on clients which are replicating the laggy sector. A likely trigger has been narrowed down to explosions and warheads, which commonly cause the bug to manifest, especially if used in close proximity to the affected players and in large quantities.

Hello, Slushtrap Gamer,

I am sorry you are experiencing this issue. Could you share further information with me? Are you on dedicated server or single player? If on dedicated server, is it one of the official ones?

Sharing your save file and log would be very helpful to me.

  • You can access your log files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers.

  • You can access your save files by typing %appdata% into your Windows search bar and you will be redirected to the hidden Roaming folder. After that just follow: \Roaming\SpaceEngineers\Saves. There should be a folder with your SteamID and your saves.
  • Please zip the file and attach it here. If you are having difficulty attaching files you can optionally use Google Drive. When sharing a google drive link please make sure it is set to be downloadable by anyone with the link.

Thank you in advance.

Kind regards,

So far ive only experienced it on dedicated servers, whether official or not does not appear to matter. Serverside log and save files i cannot provide for obvious reasons, however i can procure a log from my client the next time the bug is encountered.

Hello,

I would appreciate a log from your client if possible. Could you think of anything which is linking all the occurrences? For example server restart or slower internet connection. Also if it happens on an official server, could you also provide me with the name of the server and GPS coordinates?

Thank you in advance.

Kind regards,
